We are excited to share some fantastic news: Arka HR has been awarded a $700,000 grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) as part of their Workforce Development Awards!
This funding will help us in our mission to support minority women-owned businesses in breaking into the rapidly expanding climate sector. By investing in these talented entrepreneurs, we aim to make the clean energy workforce more inclusive and foster economic growth that benefits everyone across the Commonwealth.
The grant was announced during an inspiring event at Brockton High School on Friday, September 27, where MassCEC awarded a total of $16 million to several organizations committed to workforce development and equity in the clean energy field. Arka HR co-founders, Marcela Aldaz-Matos and Andreina Viera Silva, proudly represented Arka HR at the event, celebrating this milestone alongside other incredible partners.
“We are honored to be recognized by MassCEC for the work we are doing to uplift women and minority entrepreneurs,” said Co-Founder and CEO Marcela Aldaz-Matos. “As Latina business leaders with the only Latina-owned HR firm in New England, we understand firsthand the challenges that exist. At Arka, we are not only empowering women through training and mentorship, but we are also working to create equitable access to opportunities in the climate sector.”
“This funding validates the contributions of minority women in business and invites others to take part in Massachusetts’ clean energy future. We encourage minority women-owned businesses interested in entering the climate sector to reach out to Arka HR for support,” said Co-Founder and President Andreina Viera Silva.
We are deeply grateful to MassCEC for believing in our vision, and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact by empowering diverse talent in Massachusetts.
